With so many free task managers available, we tend to receive many inquiries about if upgrading to Todoist Premium will truly make a difference in productivity. At less than $2.50 per month (or just $29/year), Todoist Premium can really take your to-dos to the next level. As Todoist user Ryan says: “Todoist Premium features and services are well worth the annual fee, at least in my case. I can’t say that would be true if the cost was much higher, but I can say that the ability to issue email task additions remotely, getting productivity reports, and task notes are the three features that I really love the most.”
Here are some of Todoist’s Premium features that our users are most fond of, and that are most useful in your quest to get more done and become more productive.
Task notes and file uploads
Add an unlimited number of notes to each of your tasks that will be saved across all of Todoist’s 13 platforms (like a post-it you can never lose!). Let’s say you’re in a meeting and your co-worker assigns you a task using Todoist– you can instantly start jotting down notes about the to-do without having to open a paper notebook, or trying by memory to remember what they were talking about. In addition, you can add files to the task (photos, PDFs, spreadsheets, etc.) in order to convert the task into a mini command center where all pertinent information is stored for future use.
If you need a bit more than a to-do list to stay on top of your tasks, you will really benefit from Todoist’s task reminders with a Premium account. You can choose to receive reminders via email, SMS message, or mobile push notification to make sure you never miss a task, no matter where you are, no matter what time it is! Will says that this feature has saved him from missing more than one conference call.
Productivity tracking and reports
In March of 2013, we launched Todoist Karma which has quickly become one of the most beloved Premium features. With Todoist Karma, you can see just how productive you have been on any particular day, or during the last four weeks. When you check off to-dos, you obtain positive karma; when you postpone tasks, on the other hand, you receive negative karma. By seeing your productivity trends in simple, color coded graphs and numerical values, you can find out which are your most productive days and where you can improve. Soon, you will reach task-management enlightenment 😉
Adding tasks via email
If you’re on the go, or a very heavy email user, this Todoist Premium feature will become your best friend. Without having to open Todoist, you can add emails as tasks to your to-do list by forwarding them to a unique email address created for you by Todoist. Use the project’s email address to forward emails or send emails directly to the project– the subject of the message will become the task name (and the content will become a task note). And don’t forget: Todoist is also integrated with Gmail, Outlook, and Thunderbird for full email optimization.
